Israel Orders Evacuations in Southern Lebanon Amid Military Strikes
Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee called on citizens in Machgharah, Tyre, and Burj Al-Shamali to “leave immediately.”
The spokesperson explained that the army would be conducting operations in these areas, citing the presence of Hezbollah activities within the neighborhoods.
Since March 2, following a cross-border attack by Hezbollah, the Israeli army has carried out airstrikes and launched a ground offensive in southern Lebanon. Lebanese authorities report that Israeli attacks have resulted in at least 1,039 deaths and 2,876 injuries.
This escalation comes amid the broader conflict sparked by a joint US-Israeli offensive against Iran, which has killed more than 1,340 people since February 28. In response, Iran has carried out repeated drone and missile strikes targeting Israel as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations, claiming these strikes are aimed at “US military assets.”
