Lebanon Reports Hundreds of Homes Destroyed in Recent Truce Violations
In a report presented during an event launching a strategic environmental recovery plan after the war, the council said 428 housing units were destroyed and an additional 50 were damaged during the recent three-day period.
The report also outlined broader destruction from earlier phases of the conflict, stating that during 46 days of Israeli military operations prior to the latest ceasefire, 17,756 homes were completely destroyed, while 32,668 others sustained damage.
According to a Lebanese news agency, Israeli forces have also continued to demolish and detonate residential buildings in some towns they reportedly occupy in southern Lebanon.
Since March 2, Israeli operations in Lebanon have reportedly resulted in 2,454 deaths, 7,658 injuries, and the displacement of more than one million people, based on official figures cited in the report.
Diplomatic engagement between the two sides has also continued. Lebanon and Israel held ambassador-level talks in Washington on April 15—the first such meeting in 43 years. A second round of discussions is expected to take place in Washington on Thursday, according to a senior Lebanese source.
